Charging your e-tractor

Options & Considerations

With the emergence of electric vehicles (EVs), various on-grid and off-grid charging options are now available.

EV charging stations can be powered either directly by the grid, off-grid by renewable energies, or by backup batteries. There is also the potential for swapping out the e-tractor’s on-board battery.

Naturally, the more amps the EV charging station can provide for your e-tractor’s on-board battery, the faster the charge will be completed. In this regard our Modular Solar Charging Solutions provide options to fully charge e-tractor batteries in 1, 2 or 4 hours. Apart from solar, we also offer EV charging stations powered by other renewable energies such as wind, hydro, or bio-waste.

When calculating the potential return on investment (ROI) for a charging station, a farmer should factor in that an e-tractor fleet would enable faster payback on the capital investment. Apart from the significant saving on fuel cost and maintenance, it also means you’re not incurring the direct and indirect costs associated with handling and storing of diesel.

In addition to providing all the functionality of a comparable diesel tractor, our e-tractor range includes a fleet management solution that enhances farm operations as well as farm administration. By pairing electrification with connectivity and automation, farmers save time and money with increased visibility into operations and simplified sustainability reporting capabilities, all of which improve a farm’s profitability and productivity. It does all this while empowering a farmer to choose land management strategies that are healthier for the environment, farm workers, and consumers.
